THE YOGA
The type of yoga that is taught at FBU is Kundalini.
Kundalini yoga is a form of yogic philosophy that involves integrating mind, body and spirit through practicing yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation and mantra that dates back to India over 4000 years ago.
This type of yoga is known as the yoga of awareness; the ultimate goal is to reach an elevated state of consciousness through systematically opening up the chakras (energy centres in the body), relaxing the mind and learning to live in harmony with the universe.

The long and short-term benefits of Kundalini yoga are:
Stress and tension relief
Clarity of mind
Strengthening of the nervous and glandular systems
Corporal detoxification
Improved flexibility
Improved concentration
Improved circulation
More overall energy
Physical strength
Self control
Physical and mental relaxation
Overcoming insecurities
Discovery
NOTE: not all of the above benefits will become apparent after just a few weeks of classes (although some will), it is recommended that you continue with a yoga teacher at least 3 times per week wherever you can for maximum results.
Also it is important that you explain any serious recent injuries or medical issues.
Class structure: (duration between 1.5 - 2 hours)
1. Adi Mantra - to start class
2. Warm up
3. Kriya - series of asanas (postures), mantras and pranayama (breathing techniques)
4. Deep relaxation
